Rehab & Chronic Health Conditions

Health Focus utalises evidence based practise protocols to reduce dysfunction, ongoing disability and pain to restore optimal function.

We introduce an array of treatment modalities which may include mobility techniques such as myofascial release, as well as physical therapy to increase stability and strength. Injury rehabilitation can be offered in either land based or hydrotherapy settings

Studies have shown that chronic diseases and conditions such as diabetes, cardiac and pulmonary conditions and diseases have best best managed with physical therapy time and time again. At Health Focus, our Accredited team of Exercise Physiologists will help guide and teach you the methods to better manage your health utalising the best evidenced based approach available.

Health Focus’ chronic disease management programs allow patients with a range of chronic conditions to be able to access a best practice physical therapy program under the supervision of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists. This allows for patients to attend at a greater frequency, as it is low-cost to the patient and achieves greater outcomes as it encourages long term behaviour change.

Each physical rehab program is tailored to suit the individual needs of each patient to allow them to work on their own conditions, injuries and pace.

Physical therapy is so important in developing neuro-plasticity, which is the development of new neural pathway connections and basically allowing the brain to re-wire and re-teach itself how to move. In order to promote this, frequency and repetition are vital and developing and maintaining these neural pathways in a patients recovery.

At Health Focus, we offer a low cost treatment program to help patients recover as best as possible post injury or trauma.

Health focus utalises hydrotherapy during early stage rehabilitation post surgery for e.g for knee/hip replacements or as a lower impact rehab option due to the buoyancy of the water and allows less force to be put through painful joints and allows patients to better manage their condition.

Health Focus uses physical therapy to regularly treat workers who have been injured. By utalising evidence based practises and rehabilitation protocols, our integrated approach can bridge the gap between the acute stages of injury and a safe and sustainable return to work.
